Today I had another skype convo with Tiziano (the father). I introduced him to my parents, which made them feel more at ease with the entire situation. We discussed details about my arrival. My dad and I fly into Bologna on Thursday September 17! Tiziano, Marina (the mom) and Matilde (the daughter, 13) will meet us both in the airport to take us back to Reggio. Hopefully that Sunday we will get a chance to visit Mere in Florence. Boccadama maybe?? He will fly out early Monday morning.
Tizi, as former au pairs refer to him as, is incredibly nice and has a wonderful sense of humor. He is already cracking jokes with me (about my nail polish preferences). A former au pair told me that he is a wonderful cook- I can't wait to see what delicious things I will learn to make. She also mentioned that she would cook with both nonne (grandmothers)- what an experience that will be!
